Often when I recommend Body Beast to women they get the shivers and say “oh no I don’t want to get big” but in reality that is the biggest myth. Weight lifting is beneficial for all and this awesome story/transformation just shows that Body Beast is for anybody! Here are the words of Jennie Holden who completed Body Beast.
Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
I have been an athlete my entire life. I grew up playing soccer and basketball. In high school, I got into running and competed in Cross Country and Track & Field at my high school. I was always known as “the stick” or “string bean” or “tree”. I am a tall person, with a very small figure. I could never really keep or maintain any muscle whatsoever. Now that I work at a fitness center, I wanted to build some muscle on my body so I can improve my body and look and feel good and stop the talks of me just being the tall skinny girl.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
The people around me inspired me most. I see my coworkers at my job participating in their workout programs and succeeding in them. I can see their improvements everyday and know if I put in the work that I can improve like them. As I completed my workouts, people around me can see the differences in me and has made me feel great! I also inspired myself. I wanted to make a change but wasn’t doing anything about it. I was tired listening to myself saying excuses why I couldn’t do it and started making changes. And after talking to Sean, I found the body beast program.
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody help you overcome that challenge?
The biggest challenge for me was consistency. I have always struggled with that. My other biggest struggle was doing this in a gym so I didn’t always have everything I needed to complete or the necessary room to complete the exercises. Sean, my Beachbody coach, was the reason I overcame that challenge. He was always checking in and had an amazing accountability group on Facebook where we could all see what each other was doing and see the improvements in each other’s lives and workouts that was an inspiration enough to overcome challenge of consistency.
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
I chose the Body Beast program because it was going to help complete my health and fitness goals the best. After I had talked to Sean for a bit about what I wanted to change and my fitness goals, I figured that Body Beast was the best fit. And turns out, it kicked my butt, but it was the best thing for me!
Which achievements are you proud of?
I am most proud of the changes that I have seen. They are small changes, but positive ones! I have built some muscle! I know it is a slow process but I am going to keep working! I am also very proud of how consistent I am being with my workouts, the best I have ever been since I stopped being a collegiate athlete!
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
My life has changed for the better since I have completed my Beachbody program. I would definitely tell people if they are at home and need a good workout program to participate in any Beachbody program, because they work! I personally have been so consistent in my workouts that I do not want to go back to the way things were. I am now even working out with one of the female trainers at my job who was a former runner, not as her client, but as her workout buddy and I am very proud of it!
